These are the thumb picks for people who have perhaps tried others and not been happy with them. They work for me anyway - the angle of the pick end is straight and just right and the slight offset of the wrap around the thumb makes them pretty comfortable. I had already tried and liked the yellow light ones but thought Id try the medium and now I prefer these.
A bit tight at first but soak the in hot water put it on the thumb and mold into shape then soak in cold water while still on the thumb and they are fine then. So if you fancy trying a bit of Travis or Atkins style try these Fred Kellys the only thumb picks I have ever felt like I don't need the flat pick along with it. Although for a gig I feel certain songs it would still be better to use a normal plectrum of course depends on the player.
Got these to try along with some others. Fit a bit tight on me. I haven't yet, but others have said you can warm up in hot water then slip on to stretch a little bit til comfortable.
Probably a good pick option if someone has lost some strength in their picking hand (they make R and L hand styles).
I've tried loads of these kinds of thumbpicks over the years and none of them really felt so comfortable until I got a hold of these ones. Tone is better than the Dunlop ones and the fit seems universally better for a lot of people I know.
