Xlr problems

Godiii 10.09.2025

The first day I unboxed this interface I plugged in a xlr cable and it got stuck in the port and I haven’t been able to return because it’s more then a month to get it fixed and set back but I need it for work.

It’s a shame that happened and it’s a great interface but minor production fault

Amazing experience for a fair price.

I bought the motu 828 (2024) as my centerpiece audio interface for my new studio, I have researched all of my possible options and have narrowed them down to either this or the UFX III. I have choose this interface based on features that are more important to me like usb 3 support (which as of 2025 only a few interfaces have), driver support (I was made aware that both RME and MOTU have excellent drivers), and apart from the attractive price which is around 50-60% less than the RME, I found the digital mixing software provided with the MOTU (CueMix 5) more modern which as a tech guy means a lot to me.

It has only been a few monthes but the device serves and hopefully serve me well in years to come. I'd recommend considering this one if you are in the market for a new interface.

In my small studio I have the following interfaces :
US-1641 (Tascam)
US20x20 (Tascam)
UR44C (Steinberg)
by the way, all of them purchased from Thomann.
I use them with DAW Cubase Pro 13 (Steinberg), which I also received through Thomann (from version 8).
These are all very good devices, but time passes and the question arose about replacing the interface.
Having made a detailed analysis of the market, I settled on MOTU 828 (2024).
In my opinion, taking into account my needs, it has the most balanced ratio of quality, functionality and price.
Of course, it will still take time to fully master all the functionality of this device,
but at the moment it makes me very happy !

really good upper mid-interface

Clean AD Converters, cool features, really like the CueMix5 app. All in all a really intuitive and well built interface. can recommend!
