I tested it with a guitar and with a keyboard. It cut the hi freq. in a very evident way. I compared to a BSS and to a Rupert Neve DI boxes and it is not usable in my opinion. The Palmer DI is much better!
I found a good usage decoupling the sub-woofer of my home theater system. There was an humm caused by a ground loop. I lifted the gnd modifying the wires in the connector and It is perfect for that usage. ;-)
This is a great alternative to a DI box and is a lot more compact.
I run my pedalboards on batteries and don't need a ground lift switch so this works perfectly as it also doesn't lower my volume like a passive DI.
There's also protection for my effects with a TRS output. I previously used TRS to XLR adapters, but then learned I could actually get them fried if the sound guy sends me phantom power. There is no concern with this product due to it having the transformer and the jack being a TS one which cannot carry phantom power.
