I play as a hobby for over 10 years and this is my 2nd drumset. Maple sounds powerful, tolerates extreme tunings well (I tune toms quite low). Stock drumheads are OK, not sure who makes them but after a few months I put new batter heads on because they were shot. The snare is my favourite part, at 5 inches deep it is best suited for mid or high tuning of course.
The quality of paint and woodwork is very precise and bearing edges are extremely accurate. All wood seems to have been carefully selected and the wood fiber seems to be very homogenous with no scars or branches. Well packed - no marks on lacquer or chrome after shipping.
