Sterling is the budget line of Ernie Ball's MusicMan range (thousands less than an official MusicMan StingRay, but this bass feels very premium. The build quality is excellent. Important to know that this bass is a "slab" body, so there aren't any comfort grooves, no belly cutaway, no sloping wrist cutaway like on a Fender instrument. Their absence makes this bass less comfortable to play than those examples - but you get used to it.
The electronics are very nice, the ceramic humbucker with the active pre-amp offers a lot of punch
